Allegra Hangen (b. 1992, USA) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Mexico City. Working across video, installation, sound, and photography, she is drawn to systems that organize perception: architecture, archives, infrastructures, images, language.

Her practice utilizes forms of visual rupture, like erasure and glitches, to reveal moments of instability and power in these systems. Through industrial materials, archives, and alternative photographic processes, Hangen offers poetic histories and speculative futures.

Hangen has exhibited internationally at institutions and artist-run spaces, including the Giardini della Biennale in Venice, The Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington in Virginia, Centro Fotográfico Manuel Álvarez Bravo in Oaxaca, and Salón Silicón and Galería Hilario Galguera in Mexico City.
