Allegra Hangen is a multimedia artist living and
working between Omaha, NE and Mexico City. Her
work in experimental film, photography, sculpture,
and sound explores themes of cultural memory, the
politics of architecture and intimate spaces, family
archives, mass media, language, and nostalgia.
Allegra holds an MFA in Visual Arts (UNAM,
Mexico City) and a BFA in Photography (Lesley
University Art and Design, Cambridge, MA).
She currently works as curator and program
coordinator at the experimental film festival,
ULTRAcinema, and is co-founder and residency
director at Fortuna, a residency exchange program
between Omaha and Mexico City.
