A Modern Home, it is a Commodity is the first piece in a series of formed aluminum objects that allude to Modernism in Mexican architecture, mass-produced building materials, and digital concepts like the glitch and liquid images. Hangen uses the risograph and collaged images from La Revista Arquitectura México, Mario Paní’s magazine, as a way to point a finger at the mass-production of items that promise progress and a middle-class sense of comfort and safety.
